The 1973 and earlier units used a U-Joint bellow without a ridge on the inside which fits into a groove to help sealing. The 1973 and earlier units also used a gimbal bearing with a plastic race rather than the aluminum race you see on this gimbal bearing. If you are unsure if you have an Alpha 1 or an Alpha 1 Generation 2, the Gen 2 U-joint bellow is held in by an internal sleeve on one side and a regular clamp on the other. DO NOT order this kit for models with a plastic race gimbal bearing.
